MAC Users: Instructions for Online Application
Instructions from the Library Information Technology department
When opening up Acrobat Reader DO NOT OPEN it in "PREVIEW" enter your information and then press SUBMIT.
If pressing the submit button does not work -
- Download the online application .PDF file. (see below)
- If the file opens in your browser instead of downloading,
- "right-click" or hold CONTROL while clicking, and select "Save As."
- save on Dekstop
- open your e-mail and attach the completed application
- submit to library-personnel@northwestern.edu
IMPORTANT: The default setting on your computer may be to open the file through Preview; however, you will not be able to complete the application. Instead, you must open the file using Adobe Reader, which must be installed on your computer.
- How to install Adobe Reader
- find the .PDF file where it is listed in Finder (often in your Downloads folder)
- "Right-click" or hold Control while clicking,
- go to "Open With," and select "Adobe Reader" from the list of programs.
- If Adobe Reader is not listed, verify that it is installed on your computer and select "Other" following the list of programs. Select Adobe Reader from the new list that appears.
An acknowledgement will be sent by e-mail once the application has been received within the Library's regular business hours – Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. -5:00 pm.
