ABOUT ACADEMIC LIAISON SERVICES

Northwestern University Library's subject specialists are the liaisons between the Library and academic departments, programs, and groups of scholars with common needs. Liaisons offer a suite of services, including:

  • Selection of materials for the University Library's collections

  • Custom-designed research consultations

  • Instruction on library services and resources, tailored to classes, groups, or individuals

  • Information on copyright, open access, and other topics in scholarly communications

  • Online guides to resources in specific subjects and topics

  • Information on other library resources and services

Contact a subject specialist. Or to identify a librarian who can help with topics or programs that might not be covered by a subject specialist, contact the library’s disciplinary coordinators.

Visit the Academic Liaison Services Department (ALS) on the 2nd floor, East Tower of the Main Library. For more information, e-mail alsdept@northwestern.edu.
