Nov. 30, 1949: This week, Macbeth, starring William Daniels in the title role, plays six performances as the year's second University theatre production. Daniels would go on to fame in theatre, film, and television.
This week, Macbeth, starring William Daniels in the title role, plays six performances as the year's second University theatre production. Daniels will go on to fame in theatre, film, and television in such productions as 1776, A Little Night Music, The Graduate, St. Elsewhere, Knight Rider, and Boy Meets World. Also in the cast as Lady Macbeth is Bonnie Bartlett, Daniel's future wife. Daniels are Bartlett will become the first real-life couple to win dual Emmy awards in the same ceremony in 1986 for St. Elsewhere.

Illinois Bell dismisses the rumors as ridiculous, but the Cook County Sherriff's Office acknowledges that the wiretapping is common practice when investigating organized crime rings. (1968)

Nov. 21, 1968: Former professor William F. Bryon, 76, retired Northwestern sociologist and criminologist, dies in California. He was voted most popular professor by students in 1931 and taught at Northwestern for 31 years.
Former professor William F. Bryon, 76, retired Northwestern sociologist and criminologist, dies in California. He was voted most popular professor by students in 1931 and taught at Northwestern for 31 years. Bryon served on the Chicago Council of Social Agencies, the Evanston Family Welfare Society, and the Advisory Board of Cook County Board of Commissioners.

Nov. 1973: For Members Only, the African-American student organization, considers ending their boycott of the African-American Studies department. The boycott began over a lack of student input into the formation of the department the prior year.

The boycott began over a lack of student input into the formation of the department the prior year. FMO did eventually end the boycott, which ran from Spring to Fall 1973.

Nov. 19, 1976: ASG announces they will publish course evaluations hijacked from the provost's control last Winter Quarter.
ASG announces they will publish course evaluations hijacked from the provost's control last Winter Quarter. Then-ASG President Jeff Weiner urged students to send evaluations to ASG rather than the designated provost and received about two-thirds of students' evaluations. Provost Raymond Mack is not expected to release the remaining one-third of evaluations to the student body. When errors are later discovered the ASG-released results, ASG funding is cut off for the remainders of the Fall quarter. (1976)
