November 23, 1981: Police forcibly break up a sit-in demonstration of Northwestern students at the Norris University Center.
The demonstration was held in protest of a meeting of Department of Defense representatives with university faculty about the subject of research grants.

November 22, 1948: Northwestern is selected to play in the Rose Bowl against California after a 7-2 season.

November 21, 1958: Northwestern's annual Dolphin Show, first established in 1947, presents its 3rd of 4 days of performance.
Traditionally showcasing water ballet and synchronized swimming, this year's show features 76 swimmers and 14 non-swimming performers with dialog, singing, and dancing. University Archives holds the records of the Dolphin Show and other student arts groups within the Arts Alliance.

November 20, 1958: An outbreak of German measles is reported on the Northwestern campus, with over 20 students contracting the disease in a span of 3 days.

November 19, 1954: The Northwestern theatre department opens a run of Romeo and Juliet. This production, held at Cahn Auditorium, is the 300th show put on in the history of the theater department.
The University Archives holds the records of University Theatre, including programs, production files and photographs, prompt books, and scrapbooks.

November 17, 1963: Dedication services are held for Northwestern's Alice Millar Chapel.
The chapel was named for donor Foster McGaw's mother.

November 16, 1958: The creation of the Tri-Quarterly, a Northwestern literary magazine, is announced. The first editor is Professor Edward B. Hungerford of the English department.
The University Archives holds the Records of the TriQuarterly.

November 15, 1913: A fire erupts at 181 North Dearborn St. in Chicago, the building that housed the Northwestern dental school.

November 14, 1960: The Chicago Tribune reports that the current freshman class, the class of 1964, has the highest academic average of any admitted class since the foundation of the university.

November 13, 1926: The official dedication of Dyche Stadium takes place. Northwestern defeats the University of Chicago, 38-7.

November 12, 1946: Augustus R. Hatton, former Northwestern professor and chair of the political science department, dies of a heart attack. Hatton, a nationally known political scientist, had drafted over 30 charters in his lifetime.

November 11, 1954: Harvard biology professor George Wald delivers his lecture, "The Origin of Life," at Northwestern's Technological Institute.

November 10, 1956: Northwestern coach Ara Parseghian records his first conference victory, as the Wildcats defeat Wisconsin, 17-7.

November 9, 1958: The Chicago Tribune announces the creation of an 8-week atomic attack safety course to be held at Northwestern's Technological Institute.
Roughly 30 Evanston residents enroll in the course, taught by professor emeritus of physics Dr. B.J Spence.

November 8, 1898: The fourth annual university "sing" is held at Assembly Hall. Professor Peter Lutkin serves as director during practices.

November 7, 1925: Northwestern defeats heavily favored, undefeated Michigan by a score of 3-2 at Soldier Field. Northwestern's 3 points were the only points scored against Michigan that season.

November 6, 1943: Northwestern's Otto Graham runs for 4 touchdowns, passes for 1, and kicks 3 extra points in a 41-0 win over Wisconsin. Graham's 27 points scored still stands today as the school record for most points scored in a game.

November 3, 1969: Wesley M. Dixon, President of the Board of Trustees at Northwestern from 1959 to 1964, dies at the age of 73.

November 2, 1940: Northwestern's second Patten Gymnasium is dedicated during homecoming. Athletic director Tug Wilson is a speaker at the ceremony.
