All users of Northwestern University’s Main Library, Deering Library and its branches must comply with these University Library regulations.

The general regulations listed below apply unless specific exceptions are noted in individual policy statements of branch libraries.

    • During the fall, winter and spring quarters, the general public may enter the library between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm Monday through Friday, and between 8:30am and noon on Saturday.

Those currently affiliated with Northwestern University have priority for workstation use.

    • Individuals must not exhibit threatening or intimidating behaviors, e.g. abusive language, threats of violence or harassment. Such behavior will be reported to University Police and may result in individuals being banned from the Library and/or arrested. Students may be reported to the office of student affairs.
