| Northwestern University Library has reciprocal borrowing agreements with both the University of Chicago Library and Loyola University of Chicago Library.
Building Access (Use Your Current ID)
Most faculty, staff, and students at Northwestern University may gain access to University of Chicago libraries and Loyola University of Chicago libraries by showing their valid Northwestern ID at the building entrance. Likewise, most faculty, staff and students from both the University of Chicago and Loyola University of Chicago may gain access to Northwestern libraries (with the exception of the medical and law libraries) by showing their valid home institution ID at the building entrance.
Borrowing Privileges (Get a Borrower's Card)
University of Chicago and Loyola users may also apply for a borrower's card at Northwestern, and Northwestern users may apply for borrowers cards at both Loyola and University of Chicago. PLEASE NOTE: The reciprocal borrowing agreement between University of Chicago Library and Northwestern University Library is separate from and has different policies than the agreement between Loyola University of Chicago Library and Northwestern University Library.
