Main Library Book Paging

Rules and Restrictions

Uncharged books from the University Library's Main collection can be retrieved and put on hold for pick-up by any patron, with the following restrictions:

  • Patrons may request a maximum of 6 items per day, Monday through Friday.
  • Requests received by 3 PM M-F will be pulled and put on hold by 5 PM the same day.
  • Requests received after 3 PM M-F will be pulled and put on hold by 5 PM the following business day.
  • Books will be held for 3 days from the time they are put on hold.
  • If a requested item is not found on the shelf, you will be notified by email or local phone.
  • This service is for Main library items only. Paging is NOT available for items from library locations outside of Main, or items from special collections within the Main building (such as Africana, Transportation, Music, Art, CORE, Reserve, or Multimedia).
  • Paging is not available the last week of intersession or the first week of the academic quarter, but Circulation staff is always available to help you learn to locate books on your own.
