Incorporates the content of CommSearch (formerly produced by the National Communication Association) and Mass Media Articles Index (formerly produced by Pennsylvania State University).

Academic OneFile A collection of peer-reviewed, full-text articles from more than 5000 journals, plus indexing of an additional 4000+ journals, newspapers and wire services. Coverage from 1980 to the present. Extensive coverage of the social sciences and other disciplines. Use this database for a broad search to retrieve both first tier as well as second tier sources. For a less broad search of first tier sources only, use Expanded Academic ASAP (EXAC).
Academic Search Premier "Multidisciplinary coverage of journal literature, including.... communications, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics... " Includes over 4515 full-text titles as well as citations and abstracts for over 8000 scholarly journals, about 45% of which are peer-reviewed.
America: History and Life Of value for investigating all aspects of the history of communications media and industries. Includes citations and abstracts from more than 2,100 journals from around the world, on historical treatments of topics related to Canada and the United States, in about 40 languages, from 1964 to the present. American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Database (ABSEARCH Online Databases) Citations and abstracts of articles published in AHSA professional journals. Once connected to ABSEARCH, choose "American Speech-Language-Hearing" from the drop-down Database menu before searching.

Contains journal articles issued in the monthly Current Index to Journals in Education (CIJE) as well as annotated references to non-journal material issued in the monthly Resources in Education (RIE). There are three different interfaces available for accessing this data:
Expanded Academic ASAP (EXAC) This is an important database for social sciences (political economy, gender studies, development, etc) with more than 20 years of coverage of about 3,500 first tier, indexed, and full-text titles, of which 2,100 are peer-reviewed. Social Sciences Abstracts Comprehensive sets of citations and abstracts to scholarly, peer-reviewed articles. Includes many links to full text. Also includes databases for subjects in humanities and law.
Social Sciences Citation Index (Web of Science) Provides bibliographic information and some abstracts from articles from more than 1,700 in the social sciences. Search by topic, author, source title, or by cited reference: authors and titles from the bibliography of an article. Searches may also lead to related records: articles with citations in common. Results may be printed, saved to a text file, exported in a delimited format for import into personal bibliographic programs like EndNote or ProCite, or may be sent via email. Sociological Abstracts Includes "the international literature in sociology and related disciplines.... provides abstracts of journal articles and citations to book reviews drawn from over 1,800+ serials publications, and also provides abstracts of books, book chapters, dissertations, and conference papers." Records extend from 1952 to the present.
