History: Microfilm and Microfiche Collections at Northwestern University Library

The Guide lists many of the larger sets held in the Main Library, exclusive of materials for the study of African history. For information on our extensive collection of microforms for the study of the African continent, consult the Herskovits Library. Most microfilm and microfiche holdings are listed by collection title in NUcat. Some government publications film and fiche may not be listed in the online catalog, so please inquire at the Government and Geographic Information and Data Services Department reference desk if you are looking for such a document or collection and do not find it online. For access to film and fiche, please inquire in the Periodicals and Newspapers Reading Room. Also note that some full-text electronic resources have been listed in this guide, although they may have no microfilm/fiche equivalents in the Library. Online guides to some collections are available at publishers' websites. See Adam Matthew Publications, LexisNexis Online Microfilm Guides, Primary Source Microfilm, and Scholarly Resources Online Guides. For further information, please contact Harriet Lightman.
