The AFI Catalog provides plot summaries, production information, and cast and crew lists from films, plus bibliographic citations to reviews and other source citations. The catalog is searchable by keywords, titles, character names, cast or crew names, subject, genre and songs, as well as by a number of technical criteria regarding production techniques and source material.

The FIAF International FilmArchive Database includes complete data from all volumes (1972 to the present) of the International Index to Film Periodicals plus records from its TV-related companion (1979 to the present).
- Film Index International
Produced in collaboration with the British Film Institute, this database indexes films from over 170 countries. Provides production information, and cast and crew lists from films, plus bibliographic citations to reviews.
- Film Literature Index
Indexes 150 film and television periodicals from 30 countries cover-to-cover and 200 other periodicals selectively for articles on film and television. Periodicals range from the scholarly to the popular. Coverage is 1976 to 2001.

- Treasures from the Film Archives
This database contains unique information about the silent film holdings of film archives from around the world. It is conceived as a tool to aid the work of preservation and scholarly research, and provides brief identification information on over 35.000 works. The database encompasses features as well as short films, and actualities as well as fictional works. Citations indicate original title, alternate titles, and key credits and production information.
