Northwestern University Finding Aids (NUFA) is a searchable database that facilitates access to collections of primary-source materials held by various departments within Northwestern University's libraries. The database consists of Northwestern University's "finding aids" that have been encoded for easy searching. Finding aids (also called guides or inventories) are the key to locating archival and other primary source materials. The finding aid to an individual collection includes a detailed description of the collection, explains how it is organized, and outlines its contents, pointing to locations within a collection where relevant materials may be found. Some finding aids contain links to digitized versions of documents or images.

NOTE: Due to the uniqueness of archival materials, none of these collections circulate. All must be examined on-site in the repository. Some collections may have restrictions to access; these are noted in the finding aid. Please see Copyright, Terms, and Citations page for additional information.
