The Once and Future Saint: Two Lives of Hildegard von Bingen April 26 - August 27, 2010, Main Library This exhibit explores two incarnations of medieval German abbess Hildegard von Bingen: Her extraordinary twelfth-century life as a famous visionary, author, composer, healer, and advisor of popes and sovereigns; and her twentieth century revival as a feminist and New Age icon by international scholars including renowned Northwestern faculty member Barbara Newman.
