  • Archives Holds Many Resources Related to Student Pubs

Publications, that is. The University Archives’ holdings include a complete run of the official student newspapers from The Tripod to The Daily, as well as alternative and special-event newspapers. Not featured in this exhibit, but well represented in the Archives, are the many, many newsletters, literary and humor magazines, and yearbooks produced by Northwestern students from its early years to today. These publications are cataloged in NUCat and can be viewed in the University Archives’ Reading Room, 110 Deering, Monday through Friday, 8:30-5.

  • Exhibit Draws on Archival Resources

This exhibit uses original materials from the University Archives’ publications collection, as well as from its photographic collection, scrapbooks, faculty and alumni biographical files, clippings, and other archival collections. In some instances, newspaper pages were color-photocopied for easier use in the display cases.

  • Curator Appreciates Help

The curator (Janet Olson, Archives) would like to thank the Northwestern University Library Exhibits Committee; Allen Streicker, Exhibits Committee Liaison; and Kitz Rickert, Conservation; and Jeremy Abbott, Exhibits Committee Webmaster, for their support and vital assistance with this exhibit.

  • Congratulations, Daily!

And last but not least, the curator congratulates The Daily Northwestern on its 125th anniversary!
