Making Headlines

While The Daily’s focus is understandably Northwestern-centric, its headlines announce world events as well as local news, especially when these events will have a local impact. The examples featured here include the beginnings and ends of wars, the death of a president, and plans for a new library. Perhaps the largest, yet shortest, headline ever to grace The Daily’s front page, of course, was “ROSES!”, which announced the Wildcat’s impending trip to the Rose Bowl in 1948.
