Making a Gift: Gifts of Cash

Simplicity and ease of delivery make cash (or check) gifts the most popular type of charitable gift. A gift of cash is considered made on the date it is hand-delivered or mailed. You can also make a cash gift through the use of a credit card

Tax Benefits

A cash gift is deductible in the year in which it is given. The deductible amount is limited to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income. A deduction in excess of that percentage can be carried over for five years.
