The Library welcomes appraised gifts of books and other printed material that directly support Northwestern studies and are of exceptional quality.
The Utility of Your Gift
Books and other library materials given to Northwestern University Library become the property of the Library and we cannot guarantee that all gifts will be added to the collection.

The Tax Status of Your Gift
Because the IRS regards the Library as an interested party, the Library itself is unable to provide appraisals, though we are able to provide names of appraisers. The University does not receipt books with an actual value unless the gift is appraised.
