Making a Gift: Undergraduate Resource Center Endowment
What does an endowment support?
The intellectual experience of Northwestern undergraduate students.
The Undergraduate Resource Center is the Library's response to integrating and enhancing the undergraduate experience at Northwestern. It blends technological and traditional academic services to support students' intellectual lives through such services as:
The Writing Place
A peer tutoring center that helps undergraduates identify problems in their writing and learn how to fix them. Students can seek advice on any of their writing whether it is an independent project, a cover letter for a job search, or an essay for a class.
The Core Collection
A non-circulating collection of about 50,000 key books that are commonly needed by undergraduates. The collection ensures books in high demand are almost always available to students.
Reserve Services and General Support Services
These services ensure that undergraduates are able to access materials that are in high demand by restricting the reserve loan period to two hours. URC also provides students with access to group study rooms, reference librarians, and electronic resources for online research.
Why Contribute?
An Undergraduate Resource Center Endowment gives you the opportunity to become of part of a Northwestern tradition by attaching your name to a vital academic service at Northwestern. Your gift will support the collection and equipment needs of the Undergraduate Resource Center in perpetuity and allow upgrading of the facilities as needed.
At the $1.5 million level, you can name the Undergraduate Resource Center.
The Library staff would be pleased to consult with you about creating your endowment. Please call the Library Development Office at (847) 467-7129 or e-mail us at Library Development for more information.
