Directions to the Art Library
The Art Library's Eloise W. Martin Reading Room and its Architecture Reading Room are both located on Level 3 of the Deering Library building.
To visit the Art Library, enter through the Deering Library doors on Deering Meadow, which will place you in the entrance lobby on Level 2 of Deering Library, and proceed up the stairs to the third floor, one story above the entrance (Level 1 is the basement, below the entrance). The Eloise W. Martin Reading Room spans Level 3 of the building, across from the stairs. The Architecture Reading Room is behind the stairs, adjacent to the exhibition case alcove.
You may also enter the Art Library from the main University Library building by following the signs directing you to Deering Library. Deering Library is connected to the University Library builiding's first and third floors. At Deering, the third floor access point is inside the Architecture Reading Room.
Elevator access is available from two locations:
- By taking University Library's public elevators to the third floor, patrons may follow signs to Deering Library through the south tower stacks, past the Ver Steeg Faculty Lounge, and into Deering Library via the Architecture Reading Room.
- By taking Deering Library's stacks elevator, located in the stacks adjacent to the Government Information reference room on Level 1 or in the music stacks adjacent to the hallway on Level 2, patrons may enter the stacks adjacent to the Architecture Reading Room on Level 3.
