Northwestern University Library's InfoCommons
The InfoCommons opened in Fall 2004. A joint
venture between the Library and NUIT, it has over 50 computer workstations
offering access to NUcat, electronic resources, and productivity software.
Users have a choice of seating options for individual or collaborative
learning, including plasma screens for laptop hookup and booths for group
work.
Staff at the desk provide information about Northwestern University Library
and its many electronic resources, assist with using the software, and
refer users with more in-depth questions to the appropriate staff member
or department. The InfoCommons is located at the foot of the
library’s main entrance.
