Library Projection Systems
Portable computer projection equipment is available for check-out from the University Library InfoCommons to instructors teaching in seminar rooms in the Library. The equipment consists of an LCD projector, a tabletop screen and cables for laptop hookup and connectivity.
Reservations
A limited number of projectors are available so we recommend reserving a system at least 1 week ahead of time. Reservations can be made in person at the InfoCommons Desk on the first floor of the Main Library or by calling 847-491-7658.Orientations
The equipment is fairly easy to use and works with almost any laptop. However, we strongly recommended that instructors receive an orientation prior to first time use and test the equipment with their own laptops and media. Orientations are available through Academic Technologies. Call 847-467-7666 (7-ROOM) to make arrangements. Please note that you must reserve and check-out the equipment for these sessions.Guidelines for use:
• Instructors must check-out the equipment in person and must supply a valid WildCard.
• Instructors must agree to accept financial responsibility for the equipment while it is checked out.
• Projectors are available during regularly scheduled class times. They may be checked out 30 minutes prior to a scheduled class and must be returned within 30 minutes of the end of the class period.
• The Projectors may only be used for classroom instruction in rooms 3322, 3370, 3622, 3670, 3722, 4622, 4670, 4722, 4770, 5322, 5722, and 5746 in the Main Library.
• Instructors must provide their own laptops.
• These are self-service systems. Library staff are not available to set up equipment in the classrooms.
• EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE is available by calling 7-ROOM should a problem develop while using the equipment.
