WHERE:

Search the entire collection of Ebrary titles at http://site.ebrary.com/lib/northwestern/.
On the University Library Web page, Ebrary is also linked in the ER (Electronic Resources) at http://er.library.northwestern.edu. Search for “Ebrary” to locate the link. Individual e-book titles will also appear by author, title, subject, or keyword in NUCAT, Northwestern University Library’s online catalog.

HOW:

Ebrary books and the Byron Hoyt collection are available 24/7 from any Evanston or Chicago campus address. There is no limit to the number of users who can access the files simultaneously. Off-campus access is available via dial-up modem or the VPN.

In order to view the e-books in the collection, the Ebrary electronic book reader must be downloaded onto your computer. Instructions on how to do this are available on the site. This free software works with your Web browser to allow browsing, search, and other advanced features.

Full-text content can be viewed and searched online and printed without charge after installing the Ebrary reader. Sections of the book can be bookmarked, text can be copied and pasted, and sections can be saved for later reading in a free Ebrary account.

WHO:

Contact the libraries’ selectors (http://staffweb.library.northwestern.edu/cm/cm_pages/selectname.html) for more information on this new service. The reference desks at any of the libraries can also provide immediate assistance and help in accessing Ebrary. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.
