ISI offers Derwent Innovations Index and Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings

The Northwestern community now has online access to two major ISI databases:

Derwent Innovations Index is a Web-based patent resource from Thomson ISI and Derwent Information. Combining value-added patent records from Derwent World Patents Index with patent citation information from Derwent Patents Citation Index, it covers more than 13 million inventions from 40 worldwide patent-issuing authorities. With patent coverage dating back to 1963 and citations back to 1973, this resource provides a comprehensive overview of inventions in the global marketplace in all categories: chemical, electrical and electronic, and engineering.

The ISI® Index to Scientific & Technical Proceedings (ISTP) provides Web access to published literature from the most significant conferences, symposia, seminars, colloquia, workshops, and conventions worldwide. It helps users track emerging ideas and new research beyond what is covered in journals and enables access to the latest information in a specific field before it appears in journals. It delivers complete bibliographic information and author abstracts from source publications that include monographs, series, preprints, and proceedings published in the journal and book literature. The ISTP covers the disciplines indexed by the Science Citation Index, including agriculture, environmental sciences, biochemistry, molecular biology, biotechnology, medicine, engineering, computer science, chemistry, and physics.

Both databases can be accessed from http://portal.isiknowledge.com/.
