Wiley Database of Polymer Properties and ASM Materials Information now available
Northwestern University Library now provides online access to two engineering resources. The Wiley Database of Polymer Properties is a comprehensive source of physical property data for commercially available polymers, with experimentally determined and selected data for more than 2,500 polymers. The initial content of the Wiley Database of Polymer Properties is derived from the Polymer Handbook and will be updated quarterly. Features include the capability to search for polymers matching specific properties or ranges of properties, the ability to create custom tables for all the properties of a specific polymer, and the ability to access the full text html for references to the primary literature. Users can also simultaneously search the Wiley Database of Polymer Properties and Wiley's collection of polymer journals at Wiley’s website (http://www3.interscience.wiley.com/cgi-bin/home)
The ASM Materials Information database includes two ASM resources: ASM Handbooks Online includes the complete content of 20 ASM Handbook volumes, plus two ASM Desk Editions. The ASM Alloy Center contains five areas and enables users to search in one easy step across ASM property data, performance charts, and processing guidelines for specific metals and alloys:
Data Sheets & Diagrams: features thousands of documents in PDF format, including material data sheets from Alloy Digest and other ASM publications; heat treating data sheets from the Heat Treater's Guides; and time-temperature curves, creep curves, and fatigue curves.
Alloy Finder: features alloy designations and trade names from around the world, covering key information, including composition, producer, tensile properties, and similar alloys.
Materials Property Data: features mechanical properties, physical properties, and processing characteristics for most industrially important alloys.
Coatings Data: features detailed information for commercial coating processes.
Corrosion Data: features corrosion information for specific alloys in specific environments.
