Upgrade from SciFinder 2001 to SciFinder 2004 to ensure continued access
Each year for the last several years, Chemical Abstracts has upgraded the client that you must install locally to search Scifinder Scholar. As of March 31, 2004, Chemical Abstracts will no longer support the 2001 version of the client, called SciFinder 2001. If you have not upgraded your software for this service since 2001, you will need to do so now.
The current version, SciFinder 2004, can be downloaded from the Library's web site at http://www.library.northwestern.edu/cgi-bin/erbuild.cgi?template=sel/selres.html&st=ecol&arg=65
Depending on your machine, you should scroll down the list of resources and click on one of the following:
"SciFinder Scholar (download the Macintosh client)"
or
"SciFinder Scholar (download the Windows client)."
Please be sure to read the "More information" section before you begin. Your installation will not be successful if the site.prf file is not put into the same folder where SciFinder Scholar is installed. The “More information” section will describe this process:
http://er.library.northwestern.edu/detail.asp?id=36523&pn=1 for Macs
or
http://er.library.northwestern.edu/detail.asp?id=34446&pn=1 for Windows.
For downloading, you can also go directly to:

or
