Update on the Marjorie I. Mitchell Multimedia Center Renovations

The Multimedia Center will reopen for media check out on Monday, October 13, 2008. Carrel viewing and the video return drop box is unavailable at this time.

The Marjorie I. Mitchell Multimedia Center was renovated during the summer of 2008.

The purpose of the renovation was to improve the services and spaces within the Mitchell Multimedia Center. The renovations include a more convenient entrance, a larger service desk, additional public NUcat stations, self-serve carrels and viewing facilities, increased collection capacity, and a video return drop box. Portions of the renovation are part of the Life Safety and ADA updates that have been taking place throughout the Library.

Through Sunday, October 12, video items can be retrieved by Multimedia Center staff for check out. Please come to the Library's Main Reserve service counter located on 2N of the Library and put in a request. Staff will give patrons an estimated time when to return to check out the item(s).

Requests and retrieval occur during our regular hours of operation, which may be different from Main Reserve.

The construction affects the Forum Room, the Video Theater, and Seminar Room 3746. The Forum Room is available for use beginning Fall Quarter, 2008. Please contact full-time staff for reservations for Fall Quarter.

If you have any questions about the renovation, please email the department at: nulmedia@northwestern.edu
