Lanham, Md.: Scarecrow Press; Music Library Association, 2007.Analyses of Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century Music, 1940-2000, a new reference book by Music Library head D.J. Hoek, was recently published by Scarecrow Press. This update of Arthur Wenk's well-known bibliography, last published in 1987, includes over 9,000 entries to analytical writings in periodicals, books, theses, dissertations, and Festschriften that address form, harmony, melody, rhythm, and other structural aspects of music by composers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. • Students seeking analyses for coursework or term papers
  • Performers interpreting works for performance and preparing program notes
  • Composers looking to understand musical structures and compositional techniques
  • Scholars whose research draws on analytical writings
