Food for Fines a success

Printer-friendly versionSend by email

Congratulations to all our Northwestern University Library patrons who made December's Food For Fines drive a success. The library collected 11 boxes of food for the Greater Chicago Food Depository in exchange for waiving $1,500 in fines to our enthusiastic patrons. In Cook County, more than 500,000 people rely on food provided by the Food Depository. Last year the Food Depository distributed more than 46 million pounds of food through its network of 600 agencies the equivalent of more than 95,000 meals per day, 365 days a year.

Thank you for helping us make a difference in our community.
