Pulitzer Prize and Transportation

The Pulitzer Prize for reporting on national affairs was won by Matt Richtel and staff of the New York Times for writing on the "hazardous use of cell phones, computers and other devices while operating cars and trucks."

Interestingly, another finalist in the same category also wrote on
transportation: Ken Bensinger and Ralph Vartabedian of the Los Angeles Times for writing on design dangers in Toyota vehicles.
