Many aviation accidents could be prevented through education and information sharing. However, a collective database of accident reports and regulations has never been made…until now. EUROCONTROL'S Safety Improvement Sub-Group (SISG) recently launched an online aviation safety "knowledge repository" called SKYbrary (or Sky Library). This portal easily links users to articles, reports, statistics, national and international regulations and standards, as well as technical analyses of the most common aircraft types. The public website is also a gateway to other organizations and forums, which further promotes the collectivity of the project.
With a sleek and accessible design, the site promises to be a valuable tool for aviation professionals and curious civilians alike.
