´╗┐Tomorrow, President Obama and his family will leave for an eight-day visit to three African countries, Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. ´╗┐

You can follow events as they unfold in two uniquely NUL ways.

First, for the duration of the trip, the Herskovits Library will have on display at the table adjacent to our public printer and workstation, several daily African newspapers covering the trip.  These newspapers are available thanks to Pete Burtch, Access Services Department, who is printing them for us to display from Newspapers Direct.

Second, follow the new blog, Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies; News From Northwestern University's Africana Library,  which will contain reports of the visit written by Badu Diakhate, ARC Department, who will relay impressions of the presidential visit as he receives them from his family in Dakar;  Esmeralda Kale, Bibliographer of Africana, who will leave for South Africa next week; and Erik Ponder, User Experience Department, who arrived in Tanzania yesterday.
