Improved EZ Proxy authentication
Users logging on to use the restricted resources on the Library Web site will notice a change in the EZ Proxy log-in screen. The Library has now implemented a single-sign-on system, designed to prevent users from having to repeat the log-in process for each separate restricted resource. When you log in to the new system, a cookie is stored on your computer that allows the Northwestern server to continue to recognize you as an authorized user throughout one continuous session.
Older browsers may have trouble logging in to the new system, especially Internet Explorer on Macintosh. Using Safari or Firefox should solve the problem. Windows users should use Intenet Explorer 6 or Firefox for access. If you continue to experience technical problems, refer to the Northwestern University Information Technology (NUIT) help page at http://www.it.northwestern.edu/passport/help.html .
