Einstein, SFX, and VideoFurnace upcoming maintenance
During the upcoming intersession the Library will be taking the opportunity to do some hardware and software maintenance on a few of our systems.
Sunday, March 18 from 7:00-10:00 am
Wednesday, March 21 from 6:30-8:30 am
* Update: Wednesday's maintenance is taking longer than anticipated. Einstein and SFX may continue to be unavailable this afternoon, until 5pm or possibly later.
** As of approximately 3:40pm, Einstein and SFX are now available. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The server which runs Metalib (Einstein) and SFX will be unavailable during the above times. During that window it is possible that the applications may briefly be available but we anticipate that the entire maintenance window will be needed to complete the work.

The VideoFurnace VFnow Server which is used by Digital Media Services to stream MPEG video to campus locations will be undergoing a software upgrade and will be unavailable for approximately 2 hours.

Library Offers Borrowing Privileges to the Evanston Community
Northwestern University Library is pleased to offer borrowing privileges to the Evanston community!
Beginning in March, permanent residents of the City of Evanston who are over 18 years of age may qualify for borrowing privileges at Northwestern University Library. Qualified patrons will have access to our library during all open hours, as well as borrowing privileges in the Main, Music, Transportation, Africana, Science and Engineering, Math, Geology, and Schaffner Libraries. In order to obtain a borrower’s card, patrons must present a photo ID, proof of current Evanston residency (utility bill, bank statement, lease), and a valid email address. The cost to obtain a borrower’s card is $50 per three months of privileges. All questions should be directed to the Library Privileges Department at (847) 491-7617 or libpriv@northwestern.edu .
