Environmental Monitoring Program

The Environmental Monitoring Program was established to assist in maintaining proper temperature and humidity levels within the Library. Recommended levels of temperature and humidity are crucial to prevent the further deteioration of paper materials, control mold outbreaks, and inhibit the growth of various pests. The Preservation Department acts as a liason to the facilities manager, providing that office with the inforamation necessary to regulate environmental conditions. The facilities manager contacts appropriate University personnel to adjust conditions. The Environmental Monitoring Program consists of collection of data from PEM2 dataloggers, inputting data, and analyzing data in Climate Notebook software.
