Links to resources now in University's Course Management System (Blackboard)

Northwestern University Library has partnered with NUIT Academic and Research Technologies to integrate library resources into the University’s Course Management System (Blackboard) [3]. Beginning on November 15, instructors using the CMS can conveniently request electronic course reserve materials including articles, book chapters, and streamed video and audio directly through the CMS and have the ability to link to citations in the library catalog, databases, and more. Students can access research materials from University libraries and contact a librarian directly through the CMS once instructors make their winter course sites available [4].

This new feature will be available to Northwestern University School of Law and the School of Continuing Studies courses beginning in the spring quarter.

Located in the CMS Course Site menu, instructors and students can select the new Library Resources link to easily locate and access information for research and course instruction including:

  • Course Reserves [5] (for instructors)
  • How to share citations through your library eShelf [6](for instructors)
  • Start Your Research (for students)
  • Ask a Librarian (for students)
  • Online help and library guides (for students)
