The Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies has approximately 20,000 books in African languages, covering a wide variety of literary genres and subject areas such as fiction, poetry, history, folklore, textbooks and grammars. A significant number of books in African language have recently been cataloged and are now accessible in Northwestern University Library's online catalog (NUcat [1]).
