The TRID, the database that combines records from the Transportation Research Information Services (TRIS) Database and the OECD's Joint Transport Research Centre’s International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) Database, reached 1 million records this week. The database, managed by the Transportation Research Board, remains an invaluable resource for transportation research domestically and internationally.
TRID's global reach is evidenced by web statistics. TRID is visited by users in 223 countries, including visitors from far-flung Norfolk Island, Marshall Islands, Tuvalu, Montserrat, and the British Indian Ocean Territory. Users in the United States, unsurprisingly, are the most frequent visitors to TRID. Within the top 10 however, are India (#3), China (#7), and Malysia (#9), highlighting the importance of Asian nations in transportation research.
