The NU Archives, usually considered a secluded hangout for those in the know, welcomed a record number of researchers in October (which, incidentally, is Archives Month!). Among these were 50 undergrad and grad students from three different courses—in American Studies, Anthropology, and Film Studies—who were required to dig into the Archives’ files and boxes of NU-related historical materials in order to complete their research papers.
Each student spent at least a couple of hours in the Archives Reading Room (a few seemed to spend every waking moment here). Research into NU’s history has become even more exciting now that they have the digitized Daily [2] at their fingertips and can easily search for relevant articles without having to page through the hard copies.
