The Chicago O'Hare International Airport was officially dedicated by President Kennedy in late March of 1963. In his speech, President Kennedy foresaw a vibrant airport past the year 2000. Today, 50 years later, O'Hare continues to be a modern marvel and to celebrate this milestone the Northwestern University Transportation Library has produced a small digital exhibit: O'Hare@50 .
O'Hare@50 presents and provides access to historical and research information from the Transportation Library collections, as well as travel information and more popular resources and oddities to learn about and celebrate our cherished airport.
The exhibit is open to the public all day, every day. Enter here.
Hope you enjoy it.
