Secretary Ray LaHood, United States Dept. of Transportation, made a
(willing) appearance on the MTV show "Buried Life." The "plot" loosely being that four post-college young men want to play basketball with Pres. Obama; they're able to meet with Sec. LaHood, who then telephones the White House.
Will they play basketball with POTUS? That's not revealed, but LaHood's willingness to meet on camera with members of this age group is both fascinating and promising for proponents of openness in government. As a general transportation reference, LaHood's blog "Fast Lane" is updated frequently.
