"Evanston in the Civil War" lecture marks start of 150th Anniversary

The nation's Civil War Sesquicentennial begins in April, 2011. On April 12, to mark the start of the four-year commemoration, the University Archives will co-host a lecture at the Evanston Public Library. The speaker is Northwestern's own Laurence Schiller, head fencing coach and Civil War expert, who will speak about the response to the war from the men and women of Evanston, including the faculty and students at Northwestern University.
