Get articles and books not available in NU-Q Library
We have a huge range of electronic books and online journals in addition to our print collection in NU-Q Library. If you can't find what you are looking for, we can borrow the item for you from elsewhere. Below are options for this.
If we don't have what you want here in NU-Q Library, it might be available at another library in Education City. Make sure you check the other library catalogues:
- Georgetown University School of Foreign Service in Qatar (broad subject coverage matching the needs of the School of Foreign Service)
- Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (specializing in design arts, art history and related areas)
- Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (specializing in business administration, computer science and information systems)
- Texas A & M University in Qatar (specializing in engineering)
- Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (specializing in medicine)
We have a reciprocal borrowing agreement with these libraries. Please email NU-Q Library with details of the book you'd like and an inter-library loan can be organized. If the item is available, your request should be filled within 2 working days. Loan periods are two weeks.
Please note: DVDs cannot be borrowed from other libraries.
We an also request books and journal/newspaper articles for you from the Northwestern University libraries in the United States. Please provide article title, author of article, name of journal/newspaper, volume and issue number and page number and include in an email to NU-Q Library. If it is a journal/newspaper article, you should have this within 5 working days maximum. If it is a book that's available on the shelf, you should have this in less than 2 weeks.
If we can't find the item you need at Northwestern or within Education City, we'll find it elsewhere - feel free to email the details through to NU-Q Library.
