Selected full text and abstracts of articles in journals across a variety of disciplines.

Readers Guide Retrospective
Historical index (1890 to 1982) to over 250 general interest periodicals.

LexisNexis Academic
Full-text newspapers and news magazines.
Enter site and click on News. Under "Select a News Category" select "Arts & Sports News."
Under "Select a News Source" select either "Book, movie, music, and play reviews" or
"Entertainment news." Then, enter search terms and select dates.
Also access the full text of the New York Times, back to 1980.

Access World News
Full-text newspapers from over 600 U.S. and over 700 international sources, each with its own distinctive focus offering diverse viewpoints on local, regional and world issues. Date coverage varies with individual newspaper. Includes the Chicago Tribune back to 1985.

ProQuest Historical Newspapers
Full-text and full-image articles from the New York Times (1851-2003), the Wall Street Journal (1889-1989), the Washington Post (1877-1990), the Los Angeles Times (1881-1985), the Chicago Tribune (1849-1985), Atlanta Constitution (1868-1929), the Chicago Defender (1905-1975), New York Amsterdam News (1922-1993) and Boston Globe (1872-1924), every page from every issue in PDF files.

Humanities Abstracts
Bibliographic citations from more than 450 periodicals in topics such as archaeology, art, classics, film, folklore, journalism, linguistics, music, the performing arts, philosophy, religion, world history, and world literature.

Historical Abstracts
Note: after entering the site, select "World History including US & Canada" if this is desired. Citations and abstracts from more than 2,100 journals in approximately 50 languages. In addition to major historical journals, many journals of regional history, as well as the most important titles in the related social sciences and humanities are included. Also covers dissertations and book reviews from 13 major historical and bibliographic journals.

JSTOR
Provides electronic access to back issues of core scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences and the sciences. Articles have been digitized, providing full-image access to the complete runs of over 100 journals. Users may browse by journal and issue, or may search the full text of the articles.
NOTE: Since JSTOR is intended to be an archive, it does not include the current issues of journals nor the most recent four or five years.

Gender Studies Database
Combines Women's Studies International, Men's Studies and Sexual Diversity Studies databases with relevant contributions from the Child Development & Adolescent Studies as well as Family & Society Studies Worldwide databases. GSD covers the spectrum of gender engaged scholarship inside and outside academia.
