Circulation

Circulation is responsible for shelving, locating missing books, and recalling books checked out to other users, among many other things.

Northwestern University Library Circulation Policies and Procedures

Library Privileges (for patrons who have not been issued a Northwestern ID):

• Northwestern University Alumni
• Northwestern Affiliates
• Non-Northwestern Patrons

For additional information on library privileges, please contact either the Library Privileges Office on the first floor of the Main Library or inquire at the Schaffner Circulation Desk Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 6:30 p.m.

To request borrowing privileges, forms are available from the Library Privileges office or the Schaffner Library Front Desk or at the links listed below:

• Download a Borrower's Card Application (for NU Alum, Northwestern affiliates, and Non-Northwestern patrons)
• Apply online for borrowing privileges at the University of Chicago libraries (for Northwestern faculty, staff and currently registered students only)

View your Library Account:

Login to MyNUcat to:

• Place renewals on books you have checked out
• View items checked out to your account
• Place a recall on an item currently checked out to another patron
• View any outstanding fines and fees associated with your account
