Printing from the Public Computer Workstations

How to use the Pharos Station for Printing:

The Pharos software holds print jobs from all Schaffner Library computers in a queue until you sign into the workstation with your NetID or Guest Account and insert your WildCARD or Visitor Copy Card into the card reader to pay for your prints.

5 cents per sheet for single-sided printing
8 cents per sheet for double-sided printing

To release your print jobs from the queue and send them to the printer:

1. Insert your WildCARD or Visitor Copy Card into the card reader next to the Pharos Station.
2. Login to the Pharos Station using your Northwestern NetID and password or Guest Account. Make certain you are using the same user name/password combination that you used to login to the computer workstation that you sent your prints from.
3. Highlight the line showing the document you want to print by clicking on it. The first column will list the name of your document and the second column will list your NetID or Guest Account name.
4. Near the bottom of the screen you will see the total charges for this print job. Be sure to check this figure before proceeding.
5. Click the “Print” button at the bottom of the screen. Your job will begin printing and charges will be deducted from your card.
6. When you are finished printing, click the “Log Out” button to logout of the Pharos Station.

Print jobs remaining in the queue are automatically deleted after two hours.
