How to install a printer on Windows Vista

  1. Navigate to http://www.library.northwestern.edu/services/printing/, right click on the printer driver you wish to install, select http://www.library.northwestern.edu/services/printing/save target as", and save the file to a convenient location such as the Desktop.

  2. Locate the printer driver you downloaded in the previous step. Double click on the file to start the installation. Note: you must be an administrator to install printers on your system. Please contact your system administrator if you are not one for assistance.
  3. On the Security Warning prompt, click on the "Run" button to open the Laptop Printing Installer.

  4. Select "Allow" on the User Account Control" when prompted.

  5. Scroll up and read the entier End user liscense agreemend and installation instructions. Click the "Accept" button to continue with the installation process.

  6. On the next screen, click the "Install" button.

  7. Sit back and watch the installer install the necessary Pharos components. This may take a few moments depending on the speed of your computer and the processes running on it. Once this process is done, click the "Finish" button to complete the installation process.
