Instructor Projection Systems

Portable computer projection equipment is available for check-out from the John P. McGowan Information Commons to instructors teaching in seminar rooms in the Library. The equipment consists of an LCD projector, a tabletop screen and cables for laptop hookup and connectivity.

A limited number of projectors are available so reserving a system at least one week ahead of time is recommended. Reservations can be made in person at the Information Commons Desk on the first floor of the Library or by calling (847) 491-7658.

The equipment is straighforward to use and works with almost any laptop. However, it is strongly recommended that instructors receive an orientation prior to first-time use and test the equipment with their own laptops and media.

Guidelines for use:

Instructors must check-out the equipment in person and must present a valid WildCard.

Instructors must agree to accept financial responsibility for the equipment while it is checked out.

Projectors are available during regularly scheduled class times. They may be checked out 30 minutes prior to a scheduled class and must be returned within 30 minutes of the end of the class period.

The projectors may only be used for classroom instruction in rooms 3322, 3370, 3622, 3670, 3722, 4622, 4670, 4722, 4770, 5322, 5722, and 5746 in the Main Library.

Instructors must provide their own laptops.

These are self-service systems. Library staff are not available to set up equipment in the classrooms.
