How to Print from a Laptop Running Vista

  1. Verify your computer is either directly connected to the Northwestern network via Ethernet, Northwestern Wireless or VPN.
  2. Open the document(s) you wish to print.
  3. Load the print dialogue box for your application e.g. File menu -> Print.
  4. Select the NUL laptop printer you wish to use.

  5. Modify any printer settings such as number of copies or selected pages as you would do with any other printer.
  6. Click the "Print" button.
  7. Enter in your Northwestern NetID and password. You will need to enter this information in correctly or you will be unable to release your print job.

  8. Once a day the Pharos client will check for updates. Click the "Close" button once the update is done. You can safely ignore the "Interactive Services" as it is the Pharos service updating itself in the background.
  9. Within 18 hours of printing the document visit the printer location and use a Pharos release station to pay for and release your print job.
