About this program: In recent years, the University of Göttingen has emerged as a major German center for digitization projects and humanities computing. We are pleased to be able to host several of their principal researchers and program managers for this meeting at Northwestern.
Heike Neuroth, a geographer by training, is the head of research and development at the State and University Library Göttingen, and she is an ehumanities consultant for the Max Planck Digital Library. She is also the coordinator of the TextGrid Project, a major German project for the curation and analysis of digital texts. Gerhard Lauer is a Professor of German with strong interests in literary theory, 18th century studies, and digital humanities. His most recent book is _Die Rückseite der Haskala. Geschichte einer kleinen Aufklärung (1650-1770)_. Felix Lohmeier is on the staff of the TextGrid project.
