Access Services Circulation Aide

Circulation Aides work at the Main Library Circulation Desk. Duties include: checking out library materials to patrons using both Alma and ILLiad software; processing patron requests; checking in and sorting returned materials; re-shelving materials on Reserve; and answering basic questions about materials and library policies. Other duties as necessary and assigned. 
 
Required availability: The Circulation Desk is open the following hours during the academic year:
 
Monday – Thursday: 8:30am – Midnight
Friday:                        8:30am – 9:00pm
Saturday:                   10:00am – 9:00pm
Sunday:                      Noon - Midnight
 
Applicants must be willing and able to work weekend and evening hours as assigned (including reading and final exam periods) through the end of the academic year. This includes reading and finals week. 
 

Both Work Study and non-Work Study students are encouraged to apply. 

 

Work Study students- ONLY- Must be an NU undergraduate with a Federal Work-Study allotment for the current year.

Job Details
Qualifications: 
Previous experience in customer service, clerical, or library work preferred; excellent interpersonal skills necessary; must be very reliable, punctual, conscientious, attentive, and personable.

$9.75 per hour
