If you want to learn about what happens behind the scenes in a research library, then this position is for you.  Your job will primarily be working with a large and unique archival collection of newspapers, a great deal of which comes from the continent of Africa.  Users regularly consult this collection of materials for their research.  You will also learn about some of the library databases which will help you process the various newspaper titles from the archive. Although the job is mostly project based and does not require you to work on a service desk, you will also learn a little about the public service functions in the department.  This includes how to use the online catalog and some of the newspaper full image and full text databases, as well as microform reader/printer/scanner operation basics.

Work Study Students- Must be an NU undergraduate with a Federal Work-Study allotment for the current year.
